Children's Health
For the health of infants and children, pick up a maternity passbook after coming to Toki City at the Toki City Health Care Center, Health Care Department, Toki City Hall (Phone: 55-2010). Make sure to bring it to every medical examination or vaccination. It will be convenient to attach your vacination certificates to the vaccination page, if you have one.

1. Health Consultation and Examination

2. Vaccination

To protect children from illness such as infectious diseases, the city will send notices to the individuals qualified for the vaccinations, and carry the vaccination out periodically, so please do not forget to take it while qualifies.(Notice will be sent to parents with children under 7 years and 6 months old.)For answers to questions concerning vaccination, please have someone who understands Japanese call the Health Care Department, City Hall, Phone: 55-2010, or come with you on a visit.

œ Polio (May and October)
Age of Subject Children: From exactly 3 months old to under 7 years and 6 months old.
Method of Vaccination: After being vaccinated at the Health Care Center or another clinic, get a booster twice at six-week intervals counting from the day after the previous shot. The dates and places for inoculations are set, but can be changed. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please make sure that the follow-up visit are more than six weeks from the day after the previous vaccination.
   
œ Tuberculin and BCG (June and July)
Age of Subject Children: From exactly 3 months old to under 4 years old.
Method of Vaccination: 48 hours after tuberculin is injected, the reaction is checked. Ifthe results are negative, BCG will be injected. The dates and places for inoculations are set, but can be changed if inconvenient.

Three-Types Mixture (First vaccination of first period: Dec. Feb., Additional vaccination of first period: March)
Compound vaccine against diphtheria, shooping cough and lockjaw.
Age of Subject Children:  
  First period: From exactly 12 months old to under 7 years and 6 months old
  Second period: From 11 years old to under 12 years old
Method of Vaccination:  
  First Vaccination of first period:
  Vaccination will be conducted three times at a three-to eight-weeks interval.
  Additional vaccination of first period:
  One year after having the three vaccinations as gFirst vaccination of first periodh, a child should be vaccinated again.

¦ Children who have already had whooping cough will take a compound vaccine for diphtheria and lockjaw only.
Second vaccination: Vaccination will be conducted once at their school when a child is in the 6th grade.
 
œ Measles (September)
Age of Subject Children: From exactly 1 year old to under 7 years and 6 months old.
Method of Vaccination: At cooperating medial institutions.
¦ There will be no vaccination for those children who already had measles.
   
œ Rubella (November)
Age of Subject Children:  
  From exactly 2 years old to under 7 years and 6 months old and from exactly 12 years old to under 16 years old.
Method of Vaccination:  
  For from exactly 2 years old to under 7 years and 6 months old, a child will be vaccinated once at cooperating medial institutions.
For from exactly 12 years old to under 16 years old, a child will be vaccinated once each at school in 1st grade and 8th grade.
¦ There will be no vaccination for those children who already had rubella.
   
œ Japanese Encephalitis (May to June)
Age of Subject Children:  
  First period <basicimmunity>:
From 3 years old to under 7 years and 6 months old
  Second period <addtional immunity>:
From 9 years old to under 13 years old
  Third period<additional immunity>:
From 14 years old to under 15 years old
Method of Vaccination:

  First period/First vaccination:
  a child who will be vaccinated for the first time will be done so twice at a one-to-four-weeks interval.
  First period/Additional vaccination:
  The child will be vaccinated once in the next year.

  <additional immunity>
Second period:
a child will be vaccinated once at school when he/she is in the 4th grade.
Third period:
a child will be vaccinated once at school when he/she is in the 9th grade.

Adult Health
Toki City provides various free checkups in order to prevent adult illnesses.Please participate in the checkups by referring to the Health Calendar and Koho Toki. The Health Calendar is distributed to each household in MidMarch and it covers such contents as health examination, maternity healthcare, and inoculations. Please have someone who can speak Japanese contact Health Care Department (Health Care Center, Phone:55-2010) or have the person accompany you to the health examination.

‘ Womb Cancer Medical Institution Examination (Individual)
  Subject: Those who are 30 years of age or older.

‘ Breast Cancer Medical Institution Examination (Individual)

  Subject: Those who are 30 years of age or older.
